The Zaldek series is not just a statement of style; the high sensitivity of the Zaldek range (more decibels per watt of music power) reveals more of the music. While this makes them very loud, precision needs to be maintained. It is the responsive voice coils and diaphragms tracking the music signal very accurately that ensures the additional detail is never swamped. Whilst every effort has been made to ensure these speakers will produce simply awesome sound pressure levels from even the most modest amplification, these are not the blunt instruments that most speakers in this mould become, for although their power is incredible, the refinement and precision expected from Wharfedale speakers remains undiluted -they are truly gentle giants.


Zaldek -The party animal

A radical departure from the norm, the brand new Zaldek range is designed specifically for the dance and rock music enthusiast. A high-octane blend of adrenaline and power with serious hi-fi undertones, these speakers are for the discerning listener who loves to live life on the edge.
Exceptionally sensitive drive units are used throughout the range to extract every ounce of music power from any amplifier. Hand-wound, massively oversize voice coils provide the impetus for our ultra-lightweight 'True Blue 'polypropylene laminate sandwich cones. These provide a taut, controlled bass response with enough dynamic 'slam 'to impress even the most hedonistic hardcore rockers. The horn-loaded tweeter used on all models in the range provides both excellent directivity and very low distortion. Neodymium powered, Ferro-fluid cooled tweeters produce a clean, crisp treble, with no trace of harshness. A good tweeter is all about timing, and these beauties have the accuracy necessary to produce a vivid and expansive stereo image well beyond the confines of the listening area. Using a horn-loaded mid-range extends these virtues down through the frequency spectrum to the point where directivity is no longer important and the bass drivers take over. A strong, MDF cabinet finishes the job, ensuring that the maximum amount of energy is employed in the act of producing music.

Zaldek is also available in full Home Cinema configurations. A centre channel, bi-pole surrounds and a massive powered subwoofer mean the Zaldek range is as versatile as it exciting. Awesome sound pressure levels can be produced with negligible distortion, a smooth controlled mid-range and a dramatic, hard-hitting dynamic bass. Add to all this, advanced directivity and a wide frequency response and you have a high-power range of speakers that can reproduce both movie soundtracks and music with incredible accuracy and cleanliness, yet packs a punch like Mohammed Ali!
The powered subwoofer has a built in 100w RMS dedicated amplifier -specifically tuned to the demands of sub-sonic bass reproduction. Adjustable crossover frequency, volume and phase, help to integrate this monster into the rest of the system with a seamless transition. Bi-pole rear channels produce both the ambience and stereo precision required for an ideal rear sound field whilst the centre channel is optimized for the reproduction of vocal frequencies. Although each speaker in the range is optimized for its purpose, the system as a whole is in a different sonic league to the competition!
