Make no
mistake - these don't just lead the class, they completely redefine it!
There's
not much to say about these that hasn't already been said. 'The
hi-fi products of the decade' -
D8.1(HiFi World), 'The most amazing loudspeakers
for 25 years' - D8.1(Ken Kessler - Hi-Fi
News), 'Instantly sets the level to which
all rivals must now aspire' - (Gramophone).
They have
totally redefined the expectations at the price. No longer will sloppy
drive units, poor build and single wire terminals suffice - even in budget
loudspeakers. If you are serious about sound, but restricted by cost,
there is no other choice.
Our Diamond 8 is nothing short of a revolution in audio. Our unique bi-directional
KEVLAR weave creates a cone that can start and stop in an instant - for
detail and resolution that will amaze even the most sceptical listener.
Coupled with the most refined Ferro-fluid cooled, neodymium powered, textile
tweeter in it's class, this range has it all - detail, dynamics, one of
the most impressive soundstages you will ever hear (at any price) and
the kind of excitement and involvement that many who spend 100 times as
much on their loudspeakers would envy.

Diamond 8.1
It is probably the finest entry-level bookshelf speaker ever designed.
Although remarkably compact, the sound occupies a wide soundstage providing
a rich and detailed reproduction of mid and treble with tightly controlled
bass response.
As
with entire range, the bass driver is bi-directional woven KEVLAR, derived
from our audiophile 'Pacific' range. These highly advanced long throw
drive units are ultra strong and fast, while their self-damping properties
remove resonant frequencies, thereby maintaining a balanced frequency
response. The front design allows positioning close to a rear wall without
unwanted bass 'boom'.

|
Diamond 8.2
It is slightly larger than the 8.1 and uses a 165mm KEVLAR driver resulting
and greater dynamic impact. The vented, dual layer voice coils ensure
a punchy, yet authoritative sound at all volume levels.
The ferrofluid cooled tweeters on Diamond 8 series use incredibly strong
neodymium magnets and possess (in abundance) the clarity and precision
that has become the trademark of the Diamond series since the very first
model.

Diamond
8.3
It is a floor-standing version of the 8.2. The larger cabinet enclosure
provides an extended bass response and removes the need for stands. They
come complete with carpet spikes and contain a sand-fillable chambers for
extra stability, reduced resonance and exceptional and levels of refinement.
As with all of the Diamond 8 series, the front baffle is profiled for optimum
sound dispersion. This, combined with a phase plug on the bass/mid drive
unit, provides superb stereo imaging and excellent off-axis listening.
|
Diamond
8.4
It is an extension of Diamond 8.3; the difference being it includes
an additional dedicated bass driver and larger cabinet enclosure for even
more impressive bass, still with the refinement and control of the rest
of the series - especially for the larger room.

DFS (bi-polar surround)
The
Diamond DFS from Wharfedale has been designed specifically to generate
the perfect rear sound field, a topic that many manufacturers misunderstand.
It is simply not enough to use smaller standard loudspeakers to handle
the rear effects. A dedicated bi-polar speaker is necessary to convey
the true spatial sensation as these alone can produce both the diffuse
ambient sound, and the precise stereo image needed to feel truly involved.
When placed on a rear wall, a pair of Diamond DFS will create a direct
and precise stereo image fro the inward facing drivers, while the outward
facing drivers fire onto the walls to create both reverb and ambience.
Ultra strong baffles and tonally balanced drive units provide a high-octane
blend of music and effects for an enthralling sorround sound experience.
The high-gauss neodymium tweeter
units are developed from Wharfedale's famous 25mm textile dome units -
accurate and detailed enough to position sounds within a three-dimensional
soundstage well beyond the confines of the listening area. Allied with
matched KEVLAR woven cones, driven in turn with double hand-wound voice
coils, the overall effect is a seamlessly integrated sound field with
sparkling musicality perfectly tuned to complete your Diamond 8 surround
system.

Diamond 8 Centre
Diamond
8 centre channel is an essential addition to the Diamond family. Now
you can enjoy all the refinement, drama and impact of Diamond in a perfectly
balanced Home Cinema configuration. Featuring twin 130mm KEVLAR bass/mid
units and a centrally positioned tweeter to give the widest possible
soundstage.
Compact and accurate, the Diamond 8 series is ideal in every respect
for use as a complete Home Cinema system. The precision and depth of
the sound not only adds to the cinema 'feelings', but also introduces
a whole new sensation of involvement.
