Inspired with industrial style, Wharfedale has come up with the MovieStar 70+ super sub/satellite home-theatre system, which is every bit as robust as it ’s appearance suggests. Ideally suited to modern living, it is both compact and powerful, delivering up to 100w per channel of clear and detailed sound from a heavyweight two way sealed enclosure.

It offers a no compromise solution for those who want a small, tidy, discrete loudspeaker system for their Home Cinema, but refuse to tolerate the inadequate sound traditionally proffered by such systems. Solid heavyweight construction and modern sweeping curves finished in silver are the epitome of modern design. This is combined in a superb sounding system that comprises everything you need for a full 5.1 speaker system.

A 25mm textile dome tweeter unit provides a level frequency response beyond 25kHz and a 100mm long-throw polypropylene bass/mid driver integrates smoothly to provide a smooth, refined mid-range with plenty of impact. The MovieStar 70 centre channel is tuned and has a slightly extended frequency response to cover the entire
vocal range, while a powered subwoofer with a built-in 150w amplifier completes the system and provides the necessary drama and excitement to make this a simply awesome experience.

System tuning is simple and allows adaption to a huge range of room sizes and configurations. The active subwoofer is fully adjustable with controls for crossover frequency, volume and even phase adjustment, the satellite speakers can be wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted or be fixed to stands (as seen in the right hand side picture). The subwoofer can be placed anywhere as bass is largely directionless and the magnetically shielded centre channel is safe in close proximity to televisions or monitors.
